Pearl Razor - The Blaze Review

If you're into wet shaving you most likely have come across the name Pearl Razors once or twice. Early this year they came out with a razor which unfortunately for some had many issues. One of my friends Jerry tried to get a corrected razor and it took him about 4 times to finally get one without the documented issue. To say it was a horror show would be putting it mildly.

Well, Pearl has announced a new razor called Blaze and they reached out to me to do a review, and even though they sent this to me at no charge people who see my review know that I always tell it like it is. That being said let's look into this razor and see if it has any issues like its predecessor.

Christmas Time - Holiday Release

Our last shaving soap for the holiday season is Christmas Time. I’ve been told this scent is the closest thing to real Christmas trees and captures the essence of the holiday with its blend of Eucalyptus, Burch, Fir Needles, Pine Needles, and Cedar Bark. 

We released this back in 2015 and since then the label has gone through a needed update which I think came out pretty good. This year we have more than enough to make the accompanying aftershave. I ordered as soon as everything was available and managed to secure what we needed for the holiday season. I think if I would have waited just a few days later this would have been a different story. 

I’m not sure what’s going to happen for 2022 with supply chains the way they are now I hope they get things straightened out for 2022.

Silent Night Holiday Release

Our next shaving soap for the holiday is Silent Night. I'm not sure you’ll find a more unique scent for the holidays such as this one. Notes of Honey, Sweet Vanilla Dried Fruits, Sheer Musk, Foral Jasmine. This intoxicating scent will surely bring you closer to peace every time you use it.

This is also one of my personal favorites, from the scent to the label design it was an enjoyable experience for me. We introduced this in 2020 and I remember it did well but having so many ideas for holiday releases we need to make room so this will be the last year for Silent Night for a while. So if you thinking of trying it for the first time nows your chance.

FaceBook 2K & Holiday Releases!

Well, the holiday season is officially here with thanksgiving just around the corner. Today I have the pleasure of releasing our last new shaving soap in 2021 along with our holiday releases as well. This new soap is called 2K and was promised when our Facebook community reached over two thousand subscribers. 

This one is based on Creed Aventus that was launched in 2010 created by Olivier Creed and Erwin Creed. Top notes are Pineapple, Bergamot, Black Currant, and Apple; middle notes are Birch, Patchouli, Moroccan Jasmine, and Rose; base notes are Musk, oakmoss, Ambergris, and Vanilla.

PipeSmoke Shave Request!

This week we received a request from one of our subscribers to use my shaving soaps called Pipe Smoke. I had four original products I started with and this is one of them and it's still a great seller today in fact if you are looking to purchase one I only have 3 left in stock. 

The scent notes include herbaceous tobacco leaf followed by a touch of sweet honey and finishing with a smoky, leathery cedarwood, fresh cherry wood, and vanilla bean. I have been told and I happen to agree that Cherry and vanilla are most predominant. Not to brag but I have been told my soaps are lather monsters and again I agree with that assessment. Today we go back to what I consider one of the best performing, over-the-counter shaving gels on the market. It's called DEEP from Nivea For Men and since writing about this back in 2019 my opinion has not changed so here is the original article.

I found myself in Rite Aide picking up some medication for my cold and I thought while I’m here why not look around for anything new. They're on the shelf was that new something. A product from Nivea Men called Deep a shaving gel with charcoal. Now I’m not one to sing the praises of charcoal but this I could not pass up it has one of the best scents I've ever come across for a shaving gel.  Ok, I know what you're thinking how can this be that good it comes from a can? well, let me put all those doubts away because this is going to blow your mind.


Let's start off with the packaging, for me, I really dig the design I like the black look of the packaging and how the gel is dispensed from the top under pressure and not a pump.
