Shaving & Talking #21

Today we use Lodge 49 in our shaving & Talking #21. If you don't know this soap it was born out of the love for a TV series of the same name. I thought it would make a perfect soap and an homage to the canceled series. Truly one of the most interesting series around, alas we will never know what happens in the end.

On the other hand, the shave was fantastic as you can see by the video we produced an amount of lather that we could shave five men, with two passes each. The slickness and glide are above average and the post-shave feel was great.

A few weeks ago I signed up for Apple TV and man I have been watching some good shows. 

Heiwa - New From Wet The Face

Engima Shave

In Today's video, I go back to when I first started collecting shaving soap and found a tin of Enigma in my den. I have had this for some time now and it still performs just as it did when I purchased it 5 or 6 years ago. The scent has kept its strength along with every note and what a scent it is.

The one I have came in a tin that's when tins were all the rage back then now of course most artisans use plastic tubs which I think turned out for the better in the long run. However, plastic is a sin, so until they come up with something else I'll have to stick with using plastic tubs.

Lemon Ice Shave / New Shaving Bowl

Today is a great day to use Frozen Lemon Ice. The hot weather this past week was so brutal that I didn't want to leave my house. Shaving with Frozen Lemon Ice certainly helped cool me down a bit.

That being said, my main focus has been on our new ceramic shaving bowl. Amy has been diligently working on creating three prototypes for us to choose from, and we have now settled on one, with minor tweaks here and there. Our first shave using this bowl will be featured in today's video. All feedback has been funneled to her, and she is now making the necessary corrections before starting a production run.

Barbasol Shave - First Time User

People give me all kinds of things for shaving. Especially family and friends a year ago I received a Barbasol shaving cream from my wife's friend who went out of her way to pick it up and send it to me. When I thanked her over the phone I went crazy for it and told her it was the best shaving cream I have ever used and I use it all the time. When I think of that act of kindness it brings tears to my eyes just thinking that not only did she visit Mary at home and in the nursing home but she took the time to think of me as well and wanted to make me happy. You couldn't have a better friend than that.

I have never used Barbasol until this shave so you can say I'm a first-time user. I was shocked to feel the lather and how thick it was it almost begs to be hot. One could say it was pumped up with air but I'm not 100% sure that was happening here.

Unforgettable Shave

Today, I'm excited to use our new release again, Unforgettable. However, recently, I've received feedback from two customers that the scent was somewhat weak. While it's only been two customers so far, I wanted to reach out and ask if anyone else has experienced the same issue.

Before you respond, please consider the following:

1) You must have purchased Unforgettable.
2) You should have shaved and used the soap, not just smelled it from the tub.
