FairHope Soap Company / Him - Key West

We change it up in this week's video. Today I'm returning to the Rockwell Razor T1 which took about 2 years to finally start shipping. Once it was released a few months later they found an issue with the internal rod which I think was responsible for keeping things together. It would break for no reason so they fixed that and sent me another one. ( I never had an issue with the original one )

We are also using a soap from FairHope Shaving Soap Company called Him the scent is Key West. It's one of the best I've had the pleasure of using. Unfortunately, I looked at the website and they don't offer that scent anymore. Next, the brush I'm using today is the Frank Shave brush a short handle with a great backbone synthetic just an all-around great brush.

Shaving With Sapone Di Paolo

Today's shaving soap is one that I've seen in my den many times but neglected to use for a long while. I can't give you a reason why it just worked out that way. The soap I'm talking about is Sapone Di Paolo. So many companies start out under one name and then as the company grows things change and so does Sapone Di Paolo. Its new name is called Eleven. I'm sure the formula for the soaps has changed but this soap seems to still be in the public eye as a collector's item and for good reason it's amazing.

Just watch the video and you'll see how thick rich and creamy this lather is and how it gets right into the beard with perfect coverage. The slickness and glide are above average providing protection from irritation allowing you to go over trouble spots without fear. The post-shave feel was also above average.

Shaving with The Flying Mango

Flying Mango shaving soap is back! Today's shaving soap was introduced in 2015 and was supposed to be a limited edition made in Italy by Saponificio Varesino exclusively for BullGoose Shaving. It utilizes Saponificio Varesino's latest Beta 4.3 formula with added mango butter for superior skin conditioning.

The scent is complex. At first whiff, you get hints of tobacco leaves. The top note is citrusy and slightly balsamic, the body aromatic with a hint of floral and lavender while the base is woody and musky.

As you can see by the video this soap lathers pretty well gets right into the beard and provides wonderful coverage. The slickness and glide are above average and provide protection from irritation.

Shaving & Turner Classic Movies

For my first shave of 2024, I selected one of the soaps I use off-camera and on. It has been around for over 460 years, but not much has changed in the way of formula. I'm talking about De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap. I found out they have a line of additional products like the aftershave balm I'd like to try. So already 2024 is starting out on a wonderful note.

If you never heard of this soap my advice would be to give it a try. One word before you purchase, if you looking for a scent that knocks you over the head then this one is not for you. What it does have is a rich creamy lather with plenty of slickness and glide allowing you to have a carefree shave void of irritation. The post-shave feel is also impressive.
