Shaving With La Toja Stick

Today is my first try using the shaving stick La Toja and let me say this now I'm not digging the scent one bit. Now that I have that out of the way I can tell you a little about this regarded shaving stick.

La Toja is a renowned Spanish brand known for its luxurious shaving products, including its iconic shaving stick. La Toja shaving sticks are celebrated for their rich lather and moisturizing properties, providing a smooth and comfortable shaving experience.

Made with natural ingredients, such as mineral salts from the La Toja island off the coast of Galicia in Spain, these shaving sticks offer a unique blend of nourishment and skincare benefits. The mineral salts are believed to have therapeutic properties, soothing the skin and leaving it feeling refreshed after each shave.

First Time Using Speick Shaving Stick

Today I use for the first time a shaving stick called Speick. I have used Arko's stick and on my first try I didn't use it correctly I was brought up on wet shaving charges for misuse of wet shaving equipment with the community. I did go back and make another video doing a stick shave properly. I will use the same method here using Speick.

This all came about during a conversation with my friend Dan he sent me two links to shaving sticks the Speick and the other La Toja. The La Toja has a scent that I clearly point out in the video I do not like but am willing to try in our next video.

The box that this came in has seen better days. Once it was removed from the box you could see the foil-like wrapping which covered the stick. Normally you would peal the foil back every time you need to reach an unused section of the stick. I didn't do that I pealed all the foil off I don't have a problem with doing it that way.

Infinity & Nebula Purple Shaving Bowl

Today I'm proud to introduce a new product from Wet The Face. Introducing 3D-printed shaving bowls. As I've said in the past I set out to learn Fusion 360 and in a few months I felt confident to create a few products and this is one of them.

The inside of our shaving bowl was designed to promote lather creation. The purpose of this specially designed textured bottom is to aid in breaking down the shaving soap or cream, incorporating air into the lather, and evenly distributing it across the bristles of the shaving brush. This process results in a thick, creamy lather that softens the beard hair, moisturizes the skin, and provides lubrication for a close, irritation-free shave.

Shaving & Talking #18

Today on shaving & talking I show some of the 3D-printed bowl designs I've been working on. We have two variants, WTF / no side logos / all shaving bowls have Wet The Face on the underside of the bowl. Unfortunately, due to the increased time of adding logos, each one will have a slightly different cost due to additional time and materials. Chuck our CAD designer is working on getting his bowls ready and he has one that takes the shape of our previous bowl from Alford.

I also plan on restocking the coconut bowls in a few weeks. Not only have these been great as shaving bowls, but I use mine for all kinds of things like holding chips, dips, and anything else you can think of.

Yaqi Excalibur and The SEnoch Comparison

Yaqi Excalibur and The SEnoch Comparison:

Today, we delve into the ongoing controversy surrounding the Yaqi Excalibur and The SEnoch from Classic Shaving. While many assume these razors are identical, why is Classic Shaving pricing them at $60 when they're available for $20 on Aliexpress? I set out to uncover the truth.

Shaving With PipeSmoke

Today I'm using the old stand-by PipeSmoke it never fails to impress me with just how amazing this scent is. The lather is just crazy rich and creamy the slickness and glide allow me to be aggressive with the single-edge razor. I can go over trouble spots without fear of irritation. The post-shave feel is always a pleasure.

My discussion this week in this video surrounds the Excaliber Vs Enoch are they the same? All signs point to yes so far. I did get the Excalibur order in and quickly looked and the razor head they are similar in appearance but I have not shaved with it yet which I will leave for the upcoming video. If this turns out to be the same product and Mr. Webster is just reselling the Excalibur as his own branded razor then I going to seek a refund and I encourage others to do the same because he has lied to us all. On the other hand, if Yaqi razors are working with him (like he said in our conversation) to come out with a razor based on the Excaliber then he is going to have to show me where the differences are (handle not included). For someone such as myself who supported his Occam razor line, I at least deserve to be told the truth we all do.

3D Printed Shaving Bowls & Followup

I've been focused on 3D printing projects for Wet The Face. We had another surge in sales with our stands that Chuck created. The 7-slot version seems to be the biggest seller right now. I can design elementary things but when it comes to complicated objects well, I turn to Chuck.

I was searching for a shaving bowl and came across one that looked like one piece of rope shaped into a small bowl. I thought this just might work let me print it and see. It did a good job of making lather but the soap that did not dissolve was found in the rope texture of the design. Then I came across one that I've seen on many maker sites. This design seemed to be the favorite with a ton of downloads counts. So I tried that one and you can see it in action because I used it in today's YouTube video. I have to say it worked very well.

The SE Noch Razor Review

Finally, a new razor was released by Occam's Razor Team called SE Noch. I had no idea this was going on until my friend Dan pointed it out to me via email. I just had to order one since it was in my price range. The list price is $195.00 but on sale now for $59.98. I would have NEVER purchased it at the higher price.

The packaging has not changed over the years from the Occams Razor line and I had no problems with it. This is a single-edge razor and takes the same blades as the other two razors I have from the Occam's team the original Occams and the N.A.N.O. I happened to use the Feather Pro Guard in all of them.

Past Razor Reviews & Nivea Deep

Today, we will look past the shaving creams and soaps and concentrate on hardware. I've done over 480 videos so far with most of our new subscribers having no idea of the past razor reviews I've done. So here is a look back at just some of the ones that I've reviewed.

Listed below are searchable videos on my YouTube channel which I've shown in this video. If you want me to use any of them let me know in the comments section and the one that is asked for the most will be the one I use in the future.

eShave White Tea

Today I use one of the better scented shaving creams called White Tea from eShave. If you have never tried an eShave product maybe now would be a good time. eShave was created in 1996 by Danielle Malka 28 years ago. I would consider this a high-end product with a high-end price but in this guy's opinion, it is well worth it.

You don't need a lot on the brush to create a great lather, nor do you need to use a brush this shaving cream is good with both methods. I prefer a brush and it handles it with perfection. The leather was amazing, it got right into the beard and provided great coverage. The slickness and glide reach the top of the scales providing an irrational free shave. The post-shave feel was another chart-topper.

Gillette Heritage DE & Aveeno Gel

Today we flip everything around. We ditch the shaving soap for shaving cream gel in a can. Aveeno is the shaving gel of choice. We then decided to shave with a DE razor which came out a few years ago called the Gillette Heritage. This was offered on Amazon by Gillette which received lots of attention from the wet shaving community. It came in the classic brown clamshell case with a rich brown interior lining but it was not real leather. This was a closed-comb three-piece DE Razor with a premium, chrome-plated handle, the kind from years ago.

FairHope Soap Company / Him - Key West

We change it up in this week's video. Today I'm returning to the Rockwell Razor T1 which took about 2 years to finally start shipping. Once it was released a few months later they found an issue with the internal rod which I think was responsible for keeping things together. It would break for no reason so they fixed that and sent me another one. ( I never had an issue with the original one )

We are also using a soap from FairHope Shaving Soap Company called Him the scent is Key West. It's one of the best I've had the pleasure of using. Unfortunately, I looked at the website and they don't offer that scent anymore. Next, the brush I'm using today is the Frank Shave brush a short handle with a great backbone synthetic just an all-around great brush.

Shaving With Sapone Di Paolo

Today's shaving soap is one that I've seen in my den many times but neglected to use for a long while. I can't give you a reason why it just worked out that way. The soap I'm talking about is Sapone Di Paolo. So many companies start out under one name and then as the company grows things change and so does Sapone Di Paolo. Its new name is called Eleven. I'm sure the formula for the soaps has changed but this soap seems to still be in the public eye as a collector's item and for good reason it's amazing.

Just watch the video and you'll see how thick rich and creamy this lather is and how it gets right into the beard with perfect coverage. The slickness and glide are above average providing protection from irritation allowing you to go over trouble spots without fear. The post-shave feel was also above average.

Shaving with The Flying Mango

Flying Mango shaving soap is back! Today's shaving soap was introduced in 2015 and was supposed to be a limited edition made in Italy by Saponificio Varesino exclusively for BullGoose Shaving. It utilizes Saponificio Varesino's latest Beta 4.3 formula with added mango butter for superior skin conditioning.

The scent is complex. At first whiff, you get hints of tobacco leaves. The top note is citrusy and slightly balsamic, the body aromatic with a hint of floral and lavender while the base is woody and musky.

As you can see by the video this soap lathers pretty well gets right into the beard and provides wonderful coverage. The slickness and glide are above average and provide protection from irritation.

Shaving & Turner Classic Movies

For my first shave of 2024, I selected one of the soaps I use off-camera and on. It has been around for over 460 years, but not much has changed in the way of formula. I'm talking about De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap. I found out they have a line of additional products like the aftershave balm I'd like to try. So already 2024 is starting out on a wonderful note.

If you never heard of this soap my advice would be to give it a try. One word before you purchase, if you looking for a scent that knocks you over the head then this one is not for you. What it does have is a rich creamy lather with plenty of slickness and glide allowing you to have a carefree shave void of irritation. The post-shave feel is also impressive.
