With the summer upon us, I thought it would be a great idea to move up the release date a bit on our new Frozen Lemon Ice. Heaven knows we could all use a break from everything going on not to mention the sweltering heat.

I have to say, I enjoyed the process of creating this packaging design I even tried to create a little something from the movie Frozen which I hope you noticed. It was just a fun way to get the point across.

For this scent, I took the essence of tart lemons and mix it to perfection with a menthol. This tart lemon scent is spot on if you have lemons at home just cut one open and compare.

King C. Gillette Safety Razor

To be honest I didn’t even know it was released until I was asked to review it. I’m talking about the King C Gillette Safety Razor. Maybe 50 youtube subscribers asked if I could do a review of it. So after the requests kept mounting I took a ride down to my local Walgreens which is the only place that is selling them. As far as I can tell you can’t get them from Target or CVS or any other place other than Walgreens which is fine by me because we have one about nine miles away. Once at the store I found it right away due to the big display they had showing them off.

The packaging is stunning and well thought out. It instantly told you something special is in the box. The design seemed to capture the period of the first razor and yet look modern at the same time. It even had a signature of King C. Gillette on the side but after looking at his real signature this was not the same as what was on the box. Inside you find a package of 5 blades and the 3 piece razor. Cap, Base, Steam all perfectly chromed. I found no instructions for the first time user on how to load or explaining proper usage of the razor which I think was an oversight on Gillette’s part. It seemed they had a target audience in mind which was the established wet shaver and knows what a safety razor is and how to use it.

About 8 months ago I reviewed a few products from Barbus they had been sent to me by a friend in N.J. who represents the product line. I’m reaching back into the box and pulling out the last few products I will be reviewing. Today we are going to be using Barbus Sport Original Shaving Cream and the aftershave Prestige.

The packaging for the shaving cream is the typical tube but not having a flip top is a drawback for me. The Prestige aftershave comes in a beautiful 100ml black mat finish bottle. It reminds me of Dakar, not the scent just the finish.

The sport scent of the shaving cream reminds me of sport scents on the market today. fresh clean with nothing new to talk about. The scent of the aftershave smell nice but has a strange dry down but still smells nice.

Last week a surprise package arrived with something so out of the blue that it caught me off, guard. This product from Pereira Shavery is currently not available as of this writing. It was delivered to me for comments and reviews. This was not just a new bowl or brush this was a completely new brand for the company with its first offering being a new shaving soap and I’m sure more things to come in the future. The thing that sets this one apart is it has no charcoal which has been the key selling point to Pereira Shavery's original brand for years. The name of this brand is called Baron’s Choice and if it sounds like something you’ve heard before well it is, think Captain's Choice.
