Pearl, a well-known name in the world of shaving, has recently launched its new razor called the Hammer. The Hammer is designed to provide a smooth and comfortable shaving experience to its users, while also giving them the flexibility to customize their shave according to their preferences but does it really? Let's take a look at this razor more closely.
In my experience with Pearl razors, I find them to have great packaging, quality, and finish. We did have a mechanical issue with one release a year or so back which they did solve but it took many revisions to get that done right but that's in the past. My only problem with Peral razors is this, all of them are just way too aggressive. Even the Hammer with having two combs one open and the other closed in my experience shaving with the closed comb which is for a less aggressive shave is more than I can stand. I once asked why the razors tend to be so aggressive the answer was we wanted to give the experience of using a straight razor to the user. After shaking my head a bit you get the feeling that they just didn't have an answer. Not all straight razors are as aggressive as a Pearl DE so that answer has no weight to it.
As I pointed out before The Hammer comes with two combs, one open and one closed, which is an important feature for a number of reasons. The open comb is designed to provide a more aggressive shave, allowing users to remove more hair with each stroke. The closed comb, on the other hand, is designed to provide a more gentle shave, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin or fine hair. Having both options allows users to customize their shave to their liking, making the Hammer a versatile and practical razor but if you do find yourself owning the Hammer let me know if you notice any difference between the two because I would not dare use the open comb on my face.
I'm thinking the reason they might have called this The Hammer is because of its weight. The handle is what makes it so heavy. the overall weight of this razor is about 4.7 oz. For some that are not into heavy razors, a little warning so take heed you will start to feel some fatigue holding this razor over time. On the flip side of that, the handle design is so good I think you'll have a hard time ever getting this to fall out of your hand.
Overall this was my experience and in my opinion, your mileage most likely will vary we are all different with different types of beards, and for only $44.00 this is not going to break the bank if you want to give it a try hell most people spend more money on Starbucks every week.
That's all for this week
As always be kind to one another
