As I was reading email last week I came across one from Cold River Soap Works and just took a peek and what he had going on and I found something I’ve never seen before but I’m sure it been out for a while sheep milk shaving soap called Schapnmelk. If you read the description you find they are paying homage to their dutch heritage. This soap is made with sheep milk and tallow plus lanolin and shea butter.

This soap is hand-wrapped with a modest label holding its packaging. Easy to remove but when it comes to pucks I never know what to do with them once I’m done so I just leave them in the lathering bowl.

Not much was given about its scent of this soap which is kind of sad knowing how much the wet shaving community has a big interest in that kind of thing I know I do.

I placed a good amount in the bowl and added a brush full of water and within 30 seconds I had a great lather going and during that time the scent increased slightly as well, in the end, everything looked great and got right into applying it to the beard.

It went on just fine and did provide great coverage. The shave was a good one it allowed me to go over trouble spots with no fear of irritation and the post shave feel just fine.

I guess with the emphasis on sheep milk I was expecting an extremely thick lather, it was thick but not overwhelmingly what I did get was a terrific shave with great protection and a wonderful post-shave feel and if you're looking for something like that I would try Schapenmelk and at $8.95 for 3.5 oz it a good bet you be using it for a long time to come.
