Pearl Man Coffeeop Shaving Soap

Company: Perl Man
Product: Coffeeop Shaving Soap

Today we try the other Pearl Man shaving soap called coffeeop. This soap is manufactured in India. The words artisan shaving soap show predominately on the side label and one has to wonder when do you drop the moniker of an artisan when it's been manufactured by a well-known private label company?

On my first use of this soap a few months ago I didn’t pay attention to its label but now with this second try, I took a closer look. Mahavir Health is the manufacture of this product it’s recognition in the field of manufacturing, exporting, importing, and supplying an outstanding range of Bath Soap, Herbal Soap, Fairness Soap, Shaving Cream, Talcum Powder, Fairness Cream, Skin Toner Cream, Sun Screen Cream, Hair Food Cream, Herbal Toothpaste, etc. Does that sound like an artisan shop to you?

All that aside it's still a good shaving soap. This tub comes in at 1.76oz not the best size for most wet shavers. It does offer a protective plastic cover as a second layer of protection and I’m thinking cosmetics here. Most likely this tub was first used for a woman's cosmetic but that is just speculation but it does kind of make sense.

The sent is another strange thing, this is supposed to smell like coffee but the only note I get is chocolate and lots of it. Now, I like the scent but it is not a coffee scent.

The lather had no problems with using a bowl I don’t see how you can use the tub for anything else so a bowl lather would be the only way to go here. It made a great lather rich and creamy got right into the beard and produced great coverage. The slickness and glide were good as well allowing me to go over trouble spots without fear of irritations. My post-shave feel was also very good indeed.

So I had a great shave with Pearl Man Coffeeop if you like chocolate then grab a tub of this but if your looking for Coffee scented soap try Wet the Face’s "The Perfect Cup" instead it’s made from real brewed coffee.
