Today we’re back to our Rite Aide store and found another $4.00 shaving Gel called Aveeno. This will blow you away with its performance. The can states that it has a new look but this is lost on me since I never knew what it looked like before but it's still attractive. My only problem with it is the can is way too tall to be stored on a normal shelf. Instead of making it the size of a normal shaving can they slimed it down which forced it to be taller not a great marketing move if you ask me.

I like the fact that it uses pressure and is not dispensed by a pump. The gel comes out as a clear to cream color which on contact to the skin starts to foam. For now, on this is going to be a sign that a gel is right for me if at least turned to foam it has a 50 present change of working its way into my routine, the other 50 is performance and this one has plenty of that.



One word about the scent It said on the label that this is lightly scented but I found this to be somewhat strong and very pleasant.

I did a face lathering using my fingertips to work in the gel and it performed flawlessly. In my video I had introduced the brush I was going to use and completely forgot about it so I washed my face and did the lathering again but this time using my brush and the surprise was using a brush seems to work out better for me so that’s what I’m going to do for now on when using this product.


Once I started pulling down on the razor you could tell this was going to be an amazing shave. I had no resistance the slickness and glide are at the top levels in performance here. The other properties of the cream you could feel throughout the shave and when I was all done the post shave feel was one of the best I’ve had with any gel I ever tested.

To say I have a great shave with Aveeno would be an understatement. I’m not sure what’s going on here but this is the second time I found something worth using that was an over the counter or mass-produced product. I see it as a good thing even though I’m an artisan soap maker and do my reviews mostly on other artisan products but if something is good for wet shavers then I’m going to tell you about it no matter who makes it.
