When you do a great review on a product and you know this is going to be a hit after a while of not seeing it pop up you wonder what going on?. You know it was fantastic but what went wrong? In many cases, a hobby that turns into a business is just something that the artisan never intended to happen and everything gets overwhelming for him or her to handle. Take it from me being a soap maker takes a lot of time and dedication and if you're not committed it will overtake you. Then we have times when the family is the priority and nothing else matters and that’s the case with McStachio & Co. back in 2016.

McStachio is a fantastic shaving soap you can also use it as a body soap and shampoo it’s a 3 in one soap. Jeannie has a true winner and then shortly after opening the shop she had a baby and everything changed. The business and soap making all on hold and now 3 years later she’s on the course of starting where she left off and putting everything back on track. If you are looking for an answer as to why and what happened it’s best to let her tell the story which you can find on her website here but for now, I’m just focusing on the shaving soap which in a word is amazing.

The packaging I’m happy to say has not changed I love the burlap sacks the soap come in I thought it was a great touch when I first saw them and I still do today.

The scent on Coconut, Ginger, Almond is a fresh and clean scent with hints of lime and ginger in a smooth vanilla base. I have to say when I first saw this combination I thought I have to try it for myself and I’m so glad I was surprised that they work so well together but saying it's just 3 scents is a miscommunication of such an amazing combination. I noticed the lime and wow what a great vanilla base. Maybe it should be called Coconut, Ginger, Lime, Almond, Vanilla but what do I know?

When it comes to lather this soap has it all. I bowl lather and made so much that the brush almost disappeared and it only took a small amount of time to do so. The lather went on thick and creamy and provided excellent coverage. The slickness and glide performance was right at the top allowing my razor to go over trouble spots without fear of irritation and the post shave feel was wonderful.

So, I’m so happy that Jeannie is back on track and we will be seeing lots more coming from McStachio & Co soon I’m sure. Don’t forget to visit the website she has over 14 scents to choose from I’m sure one will catch your eye
