It's Time For Frozen Lemon Ice

I think it is time to break out some of the summer shaving soaps since we had a few very hot and warm days here on Long Island. The one that I reached for is one of my favorites called Frozen Lemon Ice it's a mentholated tart lemon scent that will surely put a smile on your face.

I just love the scent of lemons and you know how much I love menthol this combination is killer for me and once you open the tub BAM tart lemons all around and it just keeps getting stronger.

Once you start to apply you'll notice how rich and creamy the lather is and then the surprise of the menthol will kick in and to me, it's just heaven.

So this week I was busy watching a few movies that had been suggested to me by friends. The first is Hereditary a 2018 horror film that follows the Graham family as they confront a series of dark and disturbing events that unfold after the death of the family matriarch, Ellen. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that each family member is dealing with their own personal demons and struggles.

The film explores themes of grief, mental illness, and familial dysfunction, with each family member representing a different aspect of these themes. Annie's struggles with her own past trauma and mental health issues come to the forefront, while Charlie's bizarre behavior is eventually revealed to be linked to a family history of dark and disturbing events. Peter, meanwhile, represents the struggle to escape the toxic legacy of the family's past.

Overall, Hereditary is a chilling exploration of the dark underbelly of family relationships and the horrors that can lurk beneath the surface of even the most seemingly normal families.

Then I watched the movie X which I had no idea was part of a trilogy X, Pearl, and Maxxxine. I've already seen the first two and each was a unique move on its own almost like they had different directors but they all had been directed by Ti West. Maxxxine will be released sometime this year and will continue the story, X.

"X" is a 2022 American slasher film directed by Ti West, with actress Mia Goth. The film centers around a group of friends who embark on creating a porno movie on a farm, only to find themselves being murdered one by one by the farmer's wife.

"Pearl" is a 2022 American slasher film directed by Ti West, co-written by Ti West and Mia Goth, who also reprises her role as the titular character. At its core, "Pearl" is a coming-of-age story that explores the struggles and anxieties of adolescence. Through the lens of horror, the film delves into themes of identity, trauma, and the loss of innocence. Mia Goth delivers a standout performance as Pearl, portraying the character's vulnerability and resilience with nuance and depth but beware it may not look like a horror movie in the beginning but it will slowly turn into what can only be called a psychopathic disturbing film.

"The Humans" is a 2021 horror film directed by Stephen Karam, based on hi
s own play of the same name. The film follows a family's Thanksgiving dinner at the new apartment of a young couple in Manhattan. As the night progresses, tensions rise and secrets are revealed, leading to a haunting and unsettling finale.

What sets The Humans apart from other horror films is its focus on the horrors of everyday life. While there are certainly some supernatural elements to the story, the true horror lies in the family dynamics and the hidden traumas and anxieties that each character is carrying. The film portrays a dysfunctional family struggling to come to terms with their own mortality, the loss of their loved ones, and their inability to communicate with each other effectively. I must admit The Humans was a struggle to watch to the end but I think the payoff will make up for it.

Well that's it for this week
As always be kind to one another
