Shaving With Michelle's Wool Fat

This week we use Michelle's Wool Fat shaving soap a hard puck soap that people have had trouble lathering in the past. I have to say I've never had this problem if I had to guess maybe it's due to the different types of water in certain areas I'm not really sure but be that as it may, I did manage to make a nice lather but only after changing the bowl size. In the past, I've always used Michelle's ceramic bowl to lather in which when I purchased the puck the ceramic bowl was included. I found it to be a good bowl but it never had the room that my WTF bowls have and once I switched it I was able to produce a really nice lather almost instantly.

In this week's video, I talk about the issues I had with an old Epson scanner of mine which I've had for over 7 years or so it's an Epson 4990 Professional Photo. The design of this scanner was such that the same things happened to all of them over the years. There is a part that is a metal bracket that moves back and forth slightly cutting into the plastic on which it sits. It's held down by two small plastic tabs on either side. These tabs are what will be cut off over time. Epson is a brilliant company but they did get this wrong I'm afraid.

I looked on youtube and found one guy who made a fix. This scanner has a part with a little L-shape end so he used string to tie it back down where it belongs over the L-shaped part of the medal bracket. Then drilled two holes one on each side of the bracket when it was sitting in place. The holes go right through in the lid of the scanner and tie the string over the L-shape and then through the two holds tieing it off. I did the same thing but opted to use a tie-wrap it's not pretty because you can see the tie-wrap from the lid of the scanner but it still works perfectly.

This is why I love Youtube so much, you can find out how to fix anything you own.

Well, Thant's all I have for today
