Shaving & Talking #2
Just before I was doing this week's shaving video as I walked into the den I noticed a leak coming from my commode and it was a disaster. Running for towels 7 to be exact I manage to locate the source of the problem. One of the problems was time because everything breaks over time the trick is to be ready for it I wasn’t.
Years ago I purchased a modern flushing device that allowed for a selected amount of water to be used. It worked amazingly instead of a handle it was a button you pushed. Now that several years later this is no longer available so much for the advancements of water conservation. This means I now had to take the whole commode apart including separating the tank and replace it with a kit I found at home depot. Two hours later and with lots of frustration I was able to continue with my YouTube video.
So now I was ready to relax a little and to accomplish that I’m using Wet the Face Lodge 49 shaving soap and aftershave. I enjoy this scent which is based on Tom Fords White Suede with notes of Saffron, Thyme, Suede, Olibanum, and Musk. For the shave, I used the Creek Road pottery bowl and brush which Alford the owner made for us. He’s working on a new batch getting them ready for the holiday season and should be in stock soon.
This shaving soap is a tribute to Lodge 49 the AMC show which was canceled after only two seasons. They tried to get it going again on another network but all efforts failed. I Will never know what happens and where the storyline ends and that is so frustrating to me.
Be that as it may, I have turned my attention to watching Netflix and continued the subscription which my free one month trial has expired. I’m involved with a few shows but you have to be careful Netflix likes to cancel things way before they have a chance to get going it’s what they do so I try to watch things like this 7 episode series called Queen's Gambit. For those of you who may not be savvy with this term, it refers to the oldest opening move in chess. This story follows a young orphaned girl Beth who befriends the chess playing janitor and he teaches her the game. As it turns out she is brilliant at it.
Needless to say, she has her demons and it makes for a wonderful story. Written by Walter Tevis the author of Color Of Money, Mockingbird, The Hustler, The Man Who Fell to Earth to name a few.
So that’s was my shave and talk which was great btw and it did the trick to relax me. I hope you have a great shave and I'll see you next week.
