Shaving With Test Pilot Mary / Axe Throwing

This week I'm using Test Pilot Mary as part of the Dirty Girls series of shaving soaps & aftershaves. This one has the scent of Dior Men's Sauvage. The scent notes Bergamot, Vanilla and Nutmeg Vetiver, Patchouli, Geranium and elemi, Ambroxan, Cedar, and Labdanum.

The Dirty Girls series pays tribute to the women who worked tirelessly to support the war effort and defend our freedom. They were just as proud to be American as the men they fought alongside, and their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Shaving With The Quiet Man (Tallow)

In the realm of shaving enthusiasts, the debate over tallow is ever-present, with some staunchly avoiding it while others swear by its virtues. At Wet The Face, we've delved into the world of tallow-based shaving soaps by transforming some of our popular formulas. After a year-long quest for the perfect tallow, we discovered a gem right here on Long Island, sourced meticulously to meet our standards.

However, the journey took an unexpected turn when it came time to replenish our tallow supply. A six-month wait for production to resume tested our patience, but the moment finally arrived, and we wasted no time crafting our coveted tallow-based shaving soaps.

It's A Wonderful Shave!

Today we use an old shaving soap I made a while back called It's A Wonderful Shave. It was a big hit for many years and then I had to place it in the vault for other holiday shaving soaps to make their debut. I found a few of them on my shelf and thought if anyone wanted one they could go to my online flea market I only have 5 so first come first served.

This shaving soap was inspired by the scene in It's A Wonderful Life! This truly captures what it would be like walking down Main Street during Christmas time in Bedford Falls. The notes include all the holiday flowers and the softest whisper of spices, with bottom notes of balsam and pine. It's one that's sure to come out every holiday but use it each time you shave to remind yourself that you do have A Wonderful Life.

Holiday Release Silent Night (Retiring)

Today I use the last of our holiday releases called Silent Night. Since we introduced this about three years or so ago it's been a staple for our holiday releases with notes of honey, sweet vanilla dried fruits, sheer musk, and floral jasmine once you take in the scent you are hooked.

This one lathers up like a champ as well giving you great coverage that gets right into the beard and the slickness and glide are tops allowing for an irritation-free shave. The post-shave feel is going to be a good one as well.

We think it's time for this one to have a rest so we are putting this back into the vault for a few years so if you haven't tried it now is the time.

Well, the holidays are almost here, so I reached for my Mr. Warlock, an amazing eucalyptus & menthol-scented shaving soap. If you haven't tried this before, then you are in for a treat. The cold blast of menthol mixes with the healing properties of eucalyptus—it's just going to wake you up in the morning.

The lather this makes is over the top and provides the best slickness and glide for the razor making it an effortless and carefree shave with no irritation. Wait until you experience the post-shave feel and if you have the aftershave that is just the icing on the cake. In a word this shaving soap is OUTSTANDING.

Shaving With Brutis

Today I feel like shaving with Brutis my take on Brute. Lately, I've seen a spike in sales and I was just wondering what's causing it but I'm not complaining. Brutis was a challenge to make it as close as I could get to the real thing and I think we got pretty close.

I wanted to make this soap and aftershave a light green but I was afraid to bring it that close to the original so I opted out of doing that. This is a lather monster so it will make tons with just a little bit in a bowl or on your brush but use as much as you want it is all up to you.

The slickness and glide are top performers allowing you to go over trouble spots without the fear of irritation. The post-shave feel is also one for the books.
