Early in Dec I was looking for something new on ETSY and
stumbled upon K Shave Worx. A husband and wife team working out of Ballston
Spa, N.Y. Kevin is an Army Veteran who works in commercial HVAC and is a
Certified Health Coach and Kelly is a Clinical Social Worker/Therapist and
Clinical Director. When they aren't at work they are busy turning their passion
into a business. Not only do they sell shaving soap but also unique, one of a
kind makeup and shaving brushes and Kevin has skills in restoring, reworked and
honing razors. It’s like a one stop shop. So I contacted Kelly who was so nice
to deal with, she was happy to send me two shaving soap samples. Hump Day
a citrus blend and The Didge with menthol & eucalyptus.
K Shave Worx has some of the strongest scented soaps I have come across in a while and the scents are intoxicating. With names like Cin Ap, Grapelicious, Cure For a Belly Ache, Bumble Nuts, Midnight Cherry Bomb The Didge and the one I’m using for this review Hump Day. The scent on Hump Day is a fruit explosion with notes like Bright
Orange, Grapefruit, Cassis, Pineapple and Vanilla. All you have to do is just
open the lid and the scent fills the room. On the scent strength scale I would give this one a 9 right out
of the tin! Here’s the list of Ingredients:
Stearic Acid, Water, Coconut Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Sodium
Hydroxide, Castor Oil, Kokum Butter, Shea Butter, Sodium Lactate, Glycerin
Loading the brush was no problem, I used my Captain’s Choice
bowl wet my brush and after a minute I had a rich creamy lather with some impressive
peaks. I used my R89 Grand for the shave and had slickness glide and plenty of
cushion that was top notch. The post shave feel was also very impressive an all
round great performing soap. As a side note scent lasted for many hours after
the shave. Kevin is right this soap does KICK ASS!
I really enjoyed shaving with K Shave Worx. I like the bold
scented approach they took with their soaps. I think I’ll try the “Cure For a
Belly Ache” Lime and Coconut! Hats off to Kevin and Kelly on such a great performing
product, but don’t just take my word for it, other well known Wet Shavers in
the community have also given them high praise.
