I found myself looking at ETSY again and came across a shaving soap from a company called Puddle Duck Soap. So I contacted Elizabeth and asked if she had samples. She told me the way her soaps are made she didn’t have any but was nice to offer me a discount of her products. A few months had gone by because of personal things but I finally got back to buying one of her shaving soaps called smooth criminal and was still able to use the discount code she gave me.

Last week I came across L.A. Shaving Soap company. John Brown the owner and founder of the company agreed to send me a few samples. After sending messages back and forth I asked him a few questions. How did you get into soap making? I got into soap making after seeing a certain film about a guy who becomes a soap maker and starts a small business with his friends and falls in love and lives happily ever after. (You may have seen it, it stars Brad Pitt and Ed Norton.) It was obvious to me John was talking about Fight Club he seems to have a good sense of humor. I continued with the next question about how difficult it might be keeping all this going being a one-man operation. It's been fairly reasonable to keep going, which is nice.

Last week I saw on Facebook a post of a shaving soap that looked so interesting called Every Knight Forge. The name invokes images of medieval times and it had a picture of a sword and shield on the label. I became intrigued and wanted to know more so I contacted Jason Mcfry the owner, after some texting back and forth he was kind enough to send me Citrus Clove Shaving Soap, Vintage Barber Beard Oil and Hinterland Styling Wax.
