The first time I heard about this pomade was six months
ago by the actress Julianna Margulies. She was a guest on the Jimmy Fallon show.
Julianna was explaining how she was contracted to do a photo shoot in the south
of France and they had to make her hair look wet. If they spritz her hair with
water it would cause frizzes so they told her about a pomade that would achieve
this look called Cock Grease. After they had a good laugh and went to
commercial I took the opportunity to google it. I found it's sold in just
about every online pomade stores around so I ordered one. You have to admit
it’s a funny name for a product plus the company name is a shocker too. They even have a product called beaver cream. Regardless of that your sure to get strange looks when you tell people what
you have in your hair.
The pomade comes in a light gauge tin with a push on lid and
as expected a picture of a rooster on the lid with the words “Keep it up all
Day” at the bottom. The graphics on the label are similar with each variation
of the product just a few color changes are made. I have the 4oz extra slick No
X light to medium hold. I’ve had this tin now for six months and I have to
say its seen some dings and dents which I can understand but the one thing I
didn’t expect was the lettering from one of the side labels has completely
disappeared. If this has happened to anyone else, I think its time for Cock n
Kitten to addresses this issue.
The color of the pomade is yellow with a heavenly sweet
vanilla scent upfront and a hint of coconut as the end note. The scent will
last most of your day. You'll find this pomade easy to apply even with damp
hair. You don’t have to break the surface of the pomade, it’s so easy to scoop
this right out of the tin and once you start applying, it just melts right into
your hair. When you style, you’ll be amazed at how your comb just glides right
though with little to no effort and the control is like that of a heavy hold
pomade the performance is top notch. The
shine is nothing short of outstanding. If your looking for that all day wet look go no further you’ve found it here.
** Side note, I often
use this pomade as a topper with any of my pomades that have no shine it works
great.
