Wiener Schurken - Strawanza

Company: Wiener Schurken
Product: Strawanza

A few weeks ago on Instagram, I was contacted by Roman the owner of Wiener Schurken from Austria. The company name in English translates to Viennese Villains. He reached out to me regarding his product Strawanza a masculine fragrance that was released not to long ago. He was looking for me to do a review and asked if I would be interested. After we spoke awhile and he filled me in on his company I agreed and waited for the product to arrive. After a few weeks, I started to wonder if he ever sent me anything and had kind of forgotten about it. Then he contacted me again, asking if his package had arrived. I told him, no, and after some investigative work on Romans part, he found out it was due to customs that it was being held up but after another week the package was delivered and I was more than ready to do the review.

One has to notice the care placed into this product for this is not mass-produced this is truly an artisan creation from the research that created it to the final packaging and all the responsibilities that come with it. The detail on the box tells a short story of this fragrance and its traditional recipe from 1953, all free of artificial fragrances and colorings. When you removed the bottle from the box you are presented with another layer of elegance carefully wrapped in fir green tissue paper sealed at the bottom and tied with what looks like a small gold rope at the neck, this is all done by hand. Once the paper is removed you have this elegant bottle with its gold cap just begging for you to remove it. In the back of the bottle, you’ll find a clear label telling you about what inside and in the front in a green background with gold lettering the Strawanza and company branding.

The scent is a woods and spice combination with top notes of spicy Black-Pepper, Clove, and Menthol, combined with base notes of Agarwood, Musk, Labdanum, and sweet, warm Tonka, perfectly rounded up with mid notes of Patchouli, Cashmere, and Cedarwood. The delivery base Alcohol denat., aqua, perfume, isopropyl alcohol, menthol, limonene, linalool, coumarin, eugenol.

When I first applied the cologne I was getting heavy pepper this dried down to a pleasant peppery-woody note just the right combinations which lasted for more than 5 to 6 hours.

To say I was impressed would be an understatement I have been using it for over a week and enjoy every time it's applied. Scents or so subjective what I like you may find its not for you but so far anyone I’ve asked men and women love this fragrance and I think you might like it too.
