Shaving With Proraso & Pottery Update

Today I'm happy to reach into the den cabinet and pull out the Proraso Red. Always a great performer. The red which is sandalwood is one of my favs but I do hear people have a hard time with the scent which could be strong to some or I have also heard it can be irritating to others. That being said it lathers nicely and provides great slickness and glide allowing me to go over trouble spots without fear of irritation. The post-shave feel is also a good one as well.

I want to focus on something if I may. A few months ago Alford announced to me he no longer wanted to produce our WTF Mug, Bowls, and Brushes he needed to concentrate on his own retail and step away from creating the wholesale items for us.

He was on a quest to find a replacement and it took a few months for him to get back to me. Not too many artisans want to work in a production type of environment. That being said he did find someone and he started to train her in how everything was made and glazed.

The first round pretty much was a learning process. She showed me the cups and bowls and I had a few comments we went back and forth for a month with Alford assisting her along the way. Finally, she was ready to send me a completed set of her work.

A few days went by and then a package arrived at the front door. Right away I noticed it was not a box like the ones Alford sent to me in the past. The ones Alford sent had been a stronger type of box this one seemed weaker and flimsy. I placed it on the kitchen table and began to open it. On the first observation things looked loose I reached in and pulled out the first item which was a cup that had a chip and then a broken bowl and this kept up until we hit 6 bowls that had been broken and 4 cups broken or chipped. 6 bowls out of ten were damaged and all but two cups had chips. I did mention to Alford to please teach her how to package products as you do but I don't think he ever did.

When I finally reported what I found to her she explained that she didn't want anything back and she added in a nice way she wanted no money and is bowing out of the agreement. This is not for me she said. I get it, the amount of time she put into making these things to have it destroyed in transit is heartbreaking. So now we are out of a new pottery artisan maybe you can convince Alford to stay with Wet The Face give him a call and let him know how you feel.

That's all I have for now
As always please be kind to one another
