Halloween Blood Orange Shave

"Blood Orange" from Wet The Face was not originally intended to be a Halloween-exclusive shaving soap, but it has quickly become a favorite for this time of year. The scent, vibrant and zesty with a subtle sweetness, captures the essence of fresh blood oranges. It's invigorating and refreshing, making it perfect for any season, but there's something about it that makes it particularly fun for Halloween.

Maybe it's the deep, rich scent, the bold, citrusy aroma that makes it feel right at home during October festivities. The scent is not spooky, but its intensity adds a dynamic element to your shave that complements the excitement of the season. As Halloween approaches, Blood Orange adds an unexpected twist to your shaving routine—an invigorating jolt that feels fresh but still fits the vibe of fall.

Shaving with Refreshing Mint

Every time I use this soap, I’m reminded of how much I truly enjoy it. I’m talking about Soapy Bathman’s Refreshing Mint. For me, this is an amazing soap that, unfortunately, is no longer in production. My tub will last me a long time, but I wish everyone could experience this remarkable shaving soap. The scent is exactly what it promises: refreshing. Combined with the cool touch of menthol, there’s simply nothing better to awaken your senses during a shave.

Since the tub holds a generous puck of soap, I prefer to bloom it by adding a bit of warm water, which softens the surface and makes loading the brush effortless. I then proceeded to face lather, which worked perfectly. The soap immediately produces a thick, creamy lather with excellent slickness and glide. As I applied it, I felt it spread evenly into my beard, laying down a smooth barrier that allowed my razor to perform flawlessly. But what really stood out was the post-shave feel—it was terrific. The invigorating scent of mint paired with the cooling menthol left my skin feeling refreshed and revitalized.

Zomchi Safety Razor Review

A week or so ago, I received an email asking if I wanted to review the Zomchi Safety Razor. I checked out the website and thought it would be a good fit for the channel, so I agreed. The company asked for an honest review, and that’s exactly what I’ve done.

The package arrived in a simple mailer, and the box for the razor was attractive. The back of the box included instructions and a little information about the company. Although it came with blades branded with the Zomchi logo, I decided to use Personna Blades I had from a previous review of a disposable Gillette razor years ago.

Shaving With Dark Matter

So far, the review feedback for Dark Matter has been positive. What turned out to be something I ruined by not being able to smell the scent turned out to be the right thing for the project. The dark color does add a nice touch to the soap as well. For the next run, I want to make it slightly darker to highlight the stars in the soap which can only be seen that way.

This soap takes longer to make than the others due to the amount of time it takes to add the scent over and over again you can't rush that sort of thing.

I think it's clear that we are going to keep Dark Matter in our Wet The Face Line up most likely we will see a new batch in January sometime.

In this video, I also touch on watching a movie from 1998 called Meet Joe Black
