Murphy & McNeil - The Cliffs Of Moher

About a month ago we did a review on Claddagh a Murphy & McNeil shaving soap sample. Today we continue with another sample called The Cliffs Of Moher. Now I’ve never been to Ireland but if the Cliffs of Moher smells anything like this scent I’ll be packing my bags for a flight over tonight.

The packaging of the samples is great for consumers. They have this reusable seal that allows you to keep things fresh for your next shave. A little goes a long way and with only 0.5oz this is a good thing.

The scent is described as standing on the cliffs with the wind at your back, being between the green earth and fresh cold ocean. Notes of Top - Calone and Fresh Lavender, Middle - Greenery and Spice, Base - Vetiver, Musk, and light notes of Wood. I would have to say this is a strongly scented soap from all of the other samples I received so if you're looking for that try this one first. They do have another way to keep the scent going Aftershave Balm, Splash, and Eau De Perfume or EDP.

I bowl lather and this soap made an amazing amount which got right into the beard providing great coverage. The slickness and glide were good allowing me to go over trouble spots without the fear of irritation. The post-shave feel was also a good one as well.

So far this base has been consistent from sample to sample. The beef tallow and duck fat seem to be doing their thing but with today's artisan bases I feel it's no longer needed or a must-have but on the other hand, people do ask for tallow so you must give people what they want.

With all this said I had a wonderful shave and Cliffs Of Moher will not disappoint. If you're looking for a strong scent in Murphy and McNeil then give this one a try.

Hope you all have great shaves!
