Right before the world started to change we received a package from Portugal and I only know one person who sends me things from that location and it’s the Barron. Pereira Shavery has sent me a new Shaving kit for review so I can give them some detailed feedback. They currently have this posted on the Indegogo but the status is currently closed. Most likely when things start to settle down they will reopen and get interested in moving on the project again. In the meantime, I’ll give this my review and you can see for yourself why I think this makes a perfect gift for the first time wet shaver.
First off the package certainly does not complement its contents. When I first opened it I was surprised to see just the shaving bowl and brush I thought to myself this is no shaving kit where are all the other things you need then I realized I had to peel back the first layer of form to reveal the rest of the contents and sure enough it had everything, De Razor, Tiger Blades, Shaving Soap, Brush, and Lathering Bowl.
The De Razor I’m sure is a clone of something even tho it has the Pereira logo on it but I have to say it performed amazingly. It handled very well cleaned with just a little water and the balance excellent. Loading the supplied Tiger blade was not a problem and for the blade, they handle my beard type with ease.
The shaping soap which I used before is the Charcoal infused Cinnamon and Orange one of my favs from them. The puck is black and as you lather, it turns a deep gray in the lathering bowl. Speaking of the bowl you have to love the high gloss finish on that its stunning and the size is just perfect for travel.
The brush was a surprise it's a synthetic knot about 24mm a little bit on the heavy side but feels great in the hand and easy to hold on to and maneuver and looks great when not in use.
So, for the first-time wet shaver, this kit has everything you need. You can see this makes a great starting point and if you're looking to try some of the products that Pereira has to offer this could be a way to get them all at the same time. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed to see one under the tree this year.
